This weekend is the annual winter outing to Barningham and the Stang!.
The loop starts on the outskirts of Barningham (nr the A66) and goes over the moors via Fremington Edge to the Reeth area, before returning via the Stang forest.
Although its only 19 miles it packs a quality punch with a bit of everything chucked in.....woodland, moors, single track, double track, tarmac, water splashes, fantastic views, leg burning climbs and eye watering down hills to boot!
Lunch is normally taken just past the half way point at the Red Lion Pub in the pretty little village of Langthwaite in Arkengarthdale. this is more of a snack stop as the pub only serves hot pasties, pies, sausage rolls and sarnies/toasties etc during the winter.....(does good beer and coffee tho too)
Meet - Weeksy at 9am or Barningham at around 10:15am.
Difficulty - RED
Distance - 19 miles
Terrain - Bit of everything
Check out the footage I shot during the ride way back in Oct 2008:

Weather is looking ok at the mo (ie cold and mostly dry - may snow a little) so, fingers crossed, it should be a good 'un.
