This Sunday ride will be relatively long, graded as red with some woodland sections railway lines and tracks nothing too technical but with a few climbs.

We will be riding from Witton Gilbert up to Burnhope mast, dropping down through woodland into Lanchester; connecting to railway line then up and over to Old Esh, from there we drop on to some woody tracks and then a long steady climb through to waterhouses then on to Stand Alone Farm and Ragpath woods

Connecting back to Brandon to Bishop Auckland track which leads us to Sunderland Bridge. Head up to Croxdale Hall, Shincliffe Woods then Houghall at this point we may have to push for a short distance as this is a footpath.

A nice bit of single track at the top of the wood will lead us to the Graham sports centre on the A177; then ride up to Pelaw woods.

We then head back towards the river banks. Frankland Lane (Weardale Way) Brasside then back towards Witton Gilbert along the river browney and up towards the start.
A good ride for any new riders who want to try something different with extra miles and you’re never too far away from the start point if you need to cut it short. Bring trail munchies etc there is a coffee shop at Houghall or the river banks.
Approximately 40 miles

Meet at Witton Dene (Coach Lane) Witton Gilbert towards St Michaels Church (over bridge of the bypass) Meet 9:00 leave at 9:15 Sharp.
