This Sunday 27th the club ride starts near Edmundbyers and takes in the Derwent Reservoir, Blanchland and Bolts Law.

The aim is to take advantage of the relatively dry weather we’ve had and get some winter moorland riding in.

Starting at Pow Hill Country Park the route heads along the shore of the Derwent Reservoir on the shared trail, across the dam and onto Millshield car park. There’s a titchy bit of road before we take an old restricted byway up towards Slaley Forest then through the forest and onto the Carrier’s Way singletrack over to and down towards Blanchland. There’s a bit of road work up through Hunstanworth and beyond before the route turns off the road and heads across to Bolt’s Law. There then follows a cracking decent to a bit of road which is shortly left behind as the route descends further on the lead mining trail all the way the Edbundbyers.

Meet: 09:30 at Pow Hill Country Park (down the hill just past the Boat Shack Café, DH8 9NU)
Distance: 25 miles (approx)
Grade: Red
Food/Drink: Bring your own

If you could let me know by 6pm on Saturday if you are coming and then I won’t call you nasty names (much;))
Cheers
Dave S
